Sole Source Request to Purchase Brasco 5 x 10 Slimline Series Aluminum Structures

Mississippi State University is seeking to purchase two Brasco 5 x 10 Slimline Series Aluminum Structures as a sole source purchase. The structures will be used for the SMART transit system and will provide consistent identity for all locations. The university has previously purchased these structures from Brasco International, Inc. and has determined that they are the only source that can meet the specific needs of the department. Key features of the structures include: • Three-sided with full rear and side walls and front-centered windscreen with two ADA openings • Dark bronze anodized aluminum finish • White acrylic dome roof with 12” aluminum plate for fascia and integral gutter • Three-way split ¼” clear tempered safety glass wall panels with two horizontal mullions • 5’ wall-mount aluminum bench with backrest • Solar lighting package with 55-watt rigid solar panel, one 32-amp hour battery, solar controller, vented enclosure, and 4.3-watt LED light for general shelter illumination The estimated cost of the structures is $11,975.00 each, and the university has determined that this price is reasonable considering the current costs of similar structures.
