The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research to identify qualified and interested small business contractors capable of performing a Non-Recurring Maintenance (NRM) construction project at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS), Menlo Park Department. The project involves correcting steam line deficiencies, including repairs, inspections, and engineering updates. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, testing, and supervision necessary to complete the project. The period of performance is 120 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP) and all work must end by September 30, 2026. Some key aspects of the project include: • Repairs: Repair the leaking portions of the system within the vaults, including replacing all steam and condensate equipment, components, and hardware within ten specifically identified steam vaults. • Inspections: Investigate and inspect the entire steam distribution and condensate return systems using professional manhole and robotic inspection cameras during scheduled shutdowns. • Engineering Updates: Update the campus steam and condensate site plan, which must be stamped by a licensed mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of California.
