Description

The New Mexico Department of Health’s Violence Prevention Program Unit is seeking professional service providers to deliver evidence‑based suicide, gun‑violence, and youth/young‑adult violence prevention services statewide, with a focus on underserved, tribal, rural, and equity‑focused populations. Applicants must choose between community resiliency‑building strategies (internships, mentorships, after‑school programs) or public awareness/education strategies (workshops, community events, gatekeeper training), or blend them, and must participate in quarterly technical‑assistance check‑ins and submit an annual performance report. The total solicitation pool is $1.2 million, contracts run from July 1 2026 to June 30 2028, and award decisions are expected mid‑April 2026. • Provide suicide, gun‑violence, and youth violence prevention services using evidence‑based or culturally‑informed models. • Select and implement either community resiliency‑building or public‑awareness/education strategies (or a combination). • Participate in mandatory quarterly technical‑assistance meetings and submit a comprehensive annual report. • Serve high‑need, underserved, tribal, rural, LGBTQIA2S+, justice‑involved, and disabled populations with a strong DEIA focus.

Budget estimate

$150,000 – $500,000

The solicitation totals $1.2 million for all awardees. Individual contracts are not capped, but typical grant awards for state‑wide violence‑prevention programs range from $150k to $500k depending on scope, staffing, and geographic coverage. Assuming 3‑6 awardees, each could receive roughly $200k‑$400k. Factors influencing the budget include the chosen strategy (community resiliency vs. public awareness), the number of target populations served, and the depth of evaluation components.
