Description

The Town of Ledyard is disposing of a mixed inventory of surplus municipal vehicles and equipment through a sealed‑bid public sale. Interested parties must submit sealed bids by the deadline, identify each item by its listing number, and assume all risk, as items are sold “as‑is” with no warranties. The buyer is responsible for removal of the assets and must remit payment within 30 days of the bid opening. • Vehicles include a 1994 International dump truck, 2000 Ford Ranger, 2000 Jeep Cherokee, several 2001‑2002 Ford Taurus models, and a 2002 Ford F350 crew cab, each with mileage and condition notes. • Equipment encompasses tire changers, multiple diesel and propane generators, lighting fixtures, metal cabinets, kitchen furniture, washers/dryers, kilns, fire hoses, tires, and assorted bulbs/ballasts. • All items are listed on the Town’s website or available at Town Hall; bids must be clearly marked “SEALED BID #2014-11: SALE OF SURPLUS ITEMS.”

Budget estimate

$20,000 – $70,000

Because the solicitation does not disclose pricing, the estimated financial scope must be inferred from typical market values of used municipal assets. The seven vehicles range from roughly $5‑$12 k each, while the equipment (generators, tire changers, lighting, etc.) could total another $10‑$20 k. Accounting for transport and removal costs, a buyer might expect to spend between $20 k and $70 k overall. Thus, the budget (i.e., purchase cost) could be estimated in the low‑$20 k to high‑$70 k range.
