Central Alabama Water is seeking a supplier to provide Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC) slurry for its Shades Mountain Filter Plant in Vestavia, AL. The contract is for one year (2027) with the option to extend up to two additional one‑year periods. The supplier must deliver bulk truckloads of PAC slurry meeting specific chemical and physical specifications, handle all logistics, provide certifications, safety data sheets, and on‑site training, and comply with strict delivery windows and driver qualifications.
• Product: PAC slurry, minimum 2.0 lb/gal, iodine number ≥ 800, NSF‑60/ANSI compliance.
• Quantity: Estimated 250,000 lb for 2027 (not a firm commitment).
• Delivery: FOB destination to Shades Mountain Filter Plant; shipments within 48 hours of release, 6:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m., driver must have CDL with HAZMAT endorsement and undergo background checks.
• Supplier responsibilities: Provide hoses/fittings, oversee off‑loading, supply COA and SDS for each batch, deliver safety‑handling training within the first month, and offer technical assistance.
