Sources Sought Notice for Amplifier

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources of commercial products/services that satisfy the Government's anticipated needs for an amplifier. The amplifier will be integrated into NIST's Absolute Magnetometer and must communicate with the control computer of the Absolute Magnetometer system. The amplifier must meet specific technical specifications, including a bandwidth of DC to at least 250 kHz, output voltage of 0 to 250 VRMS, output current of 0 to 180 ARMS, power of at least 12 kW, slew rate of up to 300 V/μs, and distortion of <0.8%. • The amplifier will be used to generate a force accurately and repeatably for the certification of new magnetic standard reference materials (SRMs). • The SRMs are certified using the NIST-built Absolute Magnetometer, a unique custom instrument. • The development of the Absolute Magnetometer for oscillatory fields will enable the certification of new magnetic SRMs that can be used by other government agencies, industry, and academia to calibrate their instrumentation. • Respondents should provide information on their company, equipment, technical specifications, performance capabilities, and services available with the purchase of the equipment.
