2815 - RIB Diesel Engines

The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk is soliciting a sole-source contract for customized Caterpillar 3126 diesel engines for the 11-meter Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs). The engines must be fully configured, tested, preserved, and delivered ready for installation by the Government into existing high-speed marine waterjet propulsion systems. The minimum requirements for the engine configuration include a customized new engine junction box and wiring harness, customized engine mounts, and a customized manual engine shut-off mechanism. • The engines must be compatible with the existing propulsion architecture, including vessel structural interfaces, engine foundations, electrical systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, instrumentation, torsional vibration management components, driveline alignment systems, and waterjet propulsion equipment. • The engines must be customized to work with the NSW 11M RIB fleet, and Puckett Machinery Company is the sole manufacturer of the customized engine. • The contract is expected to be a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract. • The Government is seeking a contractor to provide two new marine diesel propulsion engines with Centra Tortional Couplings customized for installation on 11-meter NSW RIBs.
