The United States Air Force is seeking feedback from industry partners regarding a proposed brand-name Class Justification and Approval (J&A) for standardization of Facility Generators and their associated components. The goal is to allow each USAF installation to select a standard brand of generator when new or replacement generators are required. The Air Force intends to renew the J&A for another five years and is seeking input from industry partners on how the planned J&A may impact their business.
• The current brand-name Generator Class J&A was originally approved in December 2021 for five years.
• The USAF intends to continue obtaining new or replacement generators from local dealers and distributors that supply the standard brands.
• The new Class J&A will support various installation-level contracts for new or replacement generators and associated components.
• Respondents are encouraged to submit questions or suggestions in response to this posting.
