Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Reduced Gravity Modification of 737-73W Aircraft

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) / Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) intends to award a sole-source contract for the modification of a Boeing 737-73W aircraft to enable reduced gravity flight operations. The scope of the project includes a feasibility assessment, modification of the aircraft cabin, painting the aircraft exterior, performing overdue scheduled maintenance tasks, and providing disposition for full-life of all permanent modifications made during the previous program. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort electronically via email. The key tasks and deliverables of this project are: • Feasibility assessment to determine the Boeing 737-73W’s suitability to perform reduced gravity missions • Modify the aircraft cabin to support reduced gravity operations • Paint the aircraft exterior to include NASA identifiers • Perform all overdue scheduled maintenance tasks • Provide disposition for full-life of all permanent modifications made during previous program
