Description
The US Department of the Treasury is seeking a contractor to renovate the Main Treasury Secretary's fireplace. The scope of work includes setting up a staging area, providing temporary protection of surrounding areas, relining the firebox flue, installing a new top tile and parge, and resurfacing the smoke chamber. The contractor must also remove the existing flue system and debris, and install a new flue system with insulation. The work must be completed within 365 days of award. The key requirements of the project include:
• Relining the firebox flue with a heavy wall UL 7" x 11" x 40' Liner 304 stainless steel liner with lifetime warranty
• Installing a new top tile and parge
• Resurfacing the smoke chamber
• Removing the existing flue system and debris
• Installing a new flue system with insulation
The contractor must also provide photos of the work throughout the process and provide a hands-on demonstration of the new system upon completion.
