Description
The US Air Force is soliciting a quotation for a new manufactured material, specifically a metallic air seal. The part number is 1441M38G06, and the NSN is 2840-01-308-7046 PR. The application engine is F110, and the AMC is 1C. The government intends to solicit and compete with only a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Currently, GE Aviation is the only known source that can satisfy the government's requirements.
• The government will use electronic procedures for this solicitation.
• No telephone requests will be accepted, and only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestors are acceptable.
• A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
• Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
• Since GE Aviation is currently the only approved source, a letter request for proposal will be posted, and the link to the technical data package is attached to this synopsis.
• Qualification requirements apply, and contract award will be made only if the product/service, manufacturer, or source meets the qualification requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1.
