Description
The Municipality of Skagway is seeking a qualified contractor to sand and refinish all exterior surfaces of the Outdoor Arts Facility located at 7th Pastures. The work includes surface preparation of cedar siding, glue‑lam members, trim, fascia, and a north‑side truss, followed by two coats of specified Ben Moore stains and clear coats. The contractor must supply all labor, equipment, materials, mobilization, and disposal services, obtain any necessary permits, and adhere to Alaska’s prevailing‑wage and environmental regulations. The contract will be awarded through an open competitive bidding process with a single electronic submission deadline, and the completed work must be finished by mid‑September 2020.
• Scope: full exterior sand‑and‑refinish (cedar siding, glulam, trim, fascia, truss).
• Materials: Ben Moore Arborcoat Translucent Stain (Cedar W623 40) and Protective Clear Coat (Clear 636 00).
• Requirements: moisture content ≤ 12 %, compliance with Migratory Bird Treaty Act, provision of insurance and bonding as applicable, and daily liquidated damages up to $1,500 for late or defective work.
