CUH 4.219 Microbiology Lab Expansion Phase II (BSL-3)

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is soliciting a construction firm to renovate an existing Histology Open Lab into a state‑of‑the‑art Microbiology Laboratory that includes a BSL‑3 (AFB) containment suite. The work involves structural modifications, specialized HVAC and ventilation, electrical and plumbing upgrades, and related finish work to meet federal BSL‑3 standards. The project is classified under a construction RFP and requires compliance with numerous UT‑Southwestern safety, quality, and commissioning specifications. • Renovate existing histology lab space into a Microbiology lab with supporting work areas and a BSL‑3 containment suite. • Provide all specialized mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire‑life‑safety systems required for BSL‑3 compliance. • Deliver construction, commissioning, warranty, and documentation packages in accordance with UT‑Southwestern’s Uniform General Conditions and related addenda.
