Description

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) is offering funding through the Institute to Innovate (i2i) Capacity Building and Violence Prevention Grant Program to strengthen community-based organizations working to prevent violence and improve public safety throughout Illinois. The program will provide funding for capacity-building activities, violence prevention activities, or a combination of both. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, businesses, governmental entities, educational entities, public housing organizations, or other entities authorized to receive State grant funding. The applicant must have an annual operating budget of $2 million or less, have completed a structured organizational capacity-building or technical-assistance program, and have completed an organizational assessment administered by an independent or qualified external party. The application must address all components of the NOFO and demonstrate both a need for the program and an ability to successfully implement the program. • Eligible activities include community violence intervention, youth violence prevention, youth development, reentry services, victim services, outreach, case management, mentoring, community engagement, or other community-informed approaches consistent with the NOFO. • Eligible capacity-building activities include strengthening organizational leadership, governance, financial management, internal controls, human resources, technology, strategic planning, data collection, evaluation, policies, workforce development, grant administration, and organizational sustainability. • The grant agreement will be contingent upon and subject to the availability of appropriated funds. • The total number of points available for the application review is 100. • Reviewers will score applications based on completeness, clear and detailed responses to program narrative questions, and inclusion of all mandatory program elements, as well as past performance history and/or financial standing with ICJIA.
