Government Center Building Renovation

The City of Newport News is seeking a Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) to provide services for the renovation of a six-story building. The project includes reconditioning and modernization of interior spaces, replacement or upgrade of all major building systems, and preparation of the facility for office occupancy. The CMaR will be responsible for pre-construction services, construction management, and administration. The project is expected to be completed within 920 days from the date of award. Some key aspects of the project include: • Interior build-out, including new partitions, finishes, and MEP systems • Replacement of the building's exterior window system and exterior facade • Installation of a new roofing system • Commissioning and testing of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems • Coordination with the City's elevator, window, and demolition contractors The City is looking for a qualified CMaR with experience in similar projects, a strong safety record, and the ability to provide quality control and quality assurance.
