The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) is seeking industry feedback on proposed changes to MIL-STD-188-164 and MIL-STD-188-165, which pertain to the interoperability of Super High Frequency (SHF) Satellite Communications Terminals and Phase-Shift Keying (PSK) Modems. The agency is looking for input on how to improve the clarity and consistency of these military standards, particularly in regards to digital intermediate frequency (DIF) terminals and modems, as well as virtualized platforms. Some specific areas of interest include ensuring DIF interoperability and performance, managing non-linear characteristics of Gallium Nitride (GaN) amplifiers, and addressing minimum server or hardware platform system requirements for Virtual Modems.
