RFP Borough Auditor - 2022

The Borough of Atlantic Highlands is seeking a qualified municipal accountant (or firm) to serve as the Borough Auditor for the 2022 calendar year and to perform the statutory audit of the Borough’s 2021 financial records, along with related budgeting and reporting tasks. The award will be made at the January 1, 2022 Reorganization Meeting, with a hard‑copy submission deadline of December 16, 2021. The selected auditor must meet strict experience, ethics, insurance, and compliance requirements, including “pay‑to‑play” disclosures and MacBride Principles certification. • Scope includes statutory audits of multiple funds, preparation of annual debt and financial statements, budget preparation for 2022, and a State Single Audit of the Public Assistance Fund. • Vendor must submit a detailed fee schedule with a “not‑to‑exceed” figure, proof of business registration, insurance certificates, ethics certifications, and ownership disclosures. • Evaluation emphasizes experience, familiarity with comparable municipalities, availability, and ethics; price is considered but not the sole factor.
