Fabrication and Flow Field Quantification of Transparent Micronozzle Flow Models

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is seeking a contractor to fabricate and quantify the flow field of transparent micronozzle flow models. The contractor will be responsible for fabricating optically transparent flow models, developing and operating flow systems, and performing particle velocimetry and pressure measurements. The goal of this project is to support the FDA's evaluation of blood flow characteristics through medical devices. • The contractor shall fabricate a minimum of three scaled or actual size optically transparent flow models based on FDA-provided dimensions. • The contractor shall provide flow systems meeting the specified requirements, including steady and transient flow capabilities, temperature control, and pressure measurement. • The contractor shall perform particle motion measurements and analysis with calibrated particle velocimetry systems. • The contractor shall provide a comprehensive report including a description of the equipment and methods utilized, experimental parameters, measurements made, and results.
