The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is offering a one‑year Innovation supplement to the existing Title I, 1003 School Improvement Grant. Eligible Local Education Agencies (LEAs) with at least one school under School District Superintendent Receivership may receive up to $200,000 per school to fund innovative, high‑leverage turnaround activities. Funding may be used for professional salaries, support staff salaries, purchased services, travel, BOCES services, employee benefits, and indirect costs, but not for supplies and materials (Code 45). Applications—including the FS‑10 budget form and a school‑specific Spending Plan—must be submitted by August 15 2026 and are reviewed on a rolling basis. The grant period runs from July 1 2026 to June 30 2027; any budget amendments must be filed by June 1 2027.
• Eligibility: Target districts with schools under Superintendent Receivership (see Attachment A for the list).
• Funding: Up to $200,000 per eligible school for activities in three categories—removing barriers, piloting high‑leverage strategies, and strengthening existing systems.
