Description
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is requesting bids for contracted noxious weed spraying in Golden Valley County, Lewistown Area. The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, and traffic control necessary to control noxious weeds on MDT maintained right of ways. The contract will be awarded to the lowest total cost for spraying Zone 1 and Zone 2, and chemical costs. The contractor must have a valid MT Pesticide Applicators license and be certified to apply restricted-use herbicides.
• The contract includes the treatment of approximately 177.03 acres, with an estimated 15% weed infestation in Zone 1 and 25% in Zone 2.
• The contractor must provide a detailed itemization of herbicides, rates of active ingredients, and surfactants used to treat each weed species.
• The contractor must follow all Montana State Laws and label directions in the handling, application, and disposal of herbicides.
• The contract includes a mandatory pre-work meeting between the successful contractor and MDT personnel to discuss work shifts, schedules, weed type and locations, corridor priority, traffic control, budget, and quality or performance measures.
