RNEC Absolyte VRLA Batteries Replacement

The U.S. Army is seeking a contractor to replace the existing Absolyte VRLA battery cells at the Fort Carson Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC) with new ones. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary personnel, equipment, supplies, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to furnish and labor to install the new battery cells. The new battery cells shall be the same brand and equal in amp-hours as the existing ones and shall not be refurbished or renewed. The contractor shall also reconnect existing alarm/control cable hardness and reinstall Ni-Cad Neutra Mat to each battery cell stack. The contractor shall perform a battery load test to verify that the new batteries can support 500A for 2 hours and ensure that the power remains uninterrupted during the test. • The contractor shall provide a capability statement specifying the lead and delivery time as well as installation time. • The contractor shall confirm the purchase order on hand before transporting and installing the new Absolyte VRLA battery cells at each job site. • The contractor shall visually inspect the new Absolyte VRLA battery cells for cracks, leakage, bulges, swelling, and other potential internal damages. • The contractor shall provide and install new Positive +/Negative – plates at each string’s locations. • The contractor shall provide and install new Frame Retardant Transparent Module Cover (plexiglass) with standoff over battery cells terminals for protection.
