Description
Polk County Government is soliciting bids for the purchase of 30 Scott Air-Pak X3 Pros and 30 Scott AV 3000 HT size medium masks. The Air-Paks and Masks must meet specific specifications, including self-contained breathing apparatus requirements, regulatory approvals, and facepiece assembly requirements. The contract will be awarded to the contractor whose bid best satisfies the requirements for this request and best serves the interest of Polk County.
• The SCBA shall consist of the following major sub-assemblies: full facepiece assembly, removable positive pressure mask-mounted regulator, automatic dual path redundant pressure reducer, end-of-service time indicators, harness and back frame assembly, shoulder strap mounted remote gauge, rapid intervention crew/universal air connection, and personal alert safety system.
• The SCBA shall be approved to NIOSH 42 CFR, Part 84 as an open circuit, pressure-demand self-contained breathing apparatus.
• The facepiece shall have a large diameter inlet that enables both unrestricted breathing and voice communications.
• The facepiece shall enable connection of the mask-mounted regulator by way of a quarter turn rotation.
• The facepiece shall interface with the mask-mounted regulator without the use of tools, with an audible click to assure the user that the regulator is properly seated.
