Description
The Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking professional design services for the replacement of existing roofs at the Dack & Malloy buildings on the Iowa Veteran’s Home campus in Marshalltown, IA. The selected firm will provide design services, including attending a design kick-off meeting, using the State of Iowa's construction management software, and providing construction administration services. The firm will also be responsible for coordinating with State agencies, conducting field examinations, and providing minor drawing work to assist the Construction Manager.
• The project includes the complete design and construction administration for the replacement of approximately 60,000 SF of roofs at the Malloy Building and approximately 20,000 SF of roofs at the Dack Building.
• The existing roofs are rock ballasted, and it is anticipated that the new design will include a fully adhered EPDM membrane in lieu of ballast.
• The design shall include roof top protective walking pads for access to rooftop equipment, temporary measures and adjustments to roof top equipment and pathways and curbs as necessary, and fall protection where access to roof top equipment or to adjacent spaces would be required to meet OSHA guidelines.
• The selected firm will be required to provide lump sum pricing, with the lump sum base scope price being inclusive of all reimbursables.
• The firm will also be required to provide a breakdown of their fee proposal, including hourly rates and anticipated hours by position.
