Description
The US Air Force is seeking a 5-axis CNC mill/lathe machine for the 75th Air Base Wing at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The machine should have a diameter of 27 inches or greater, a length of 120 inches or greater, and a spindle motor power of 30 horsepower or greater. The contractor will be responsible for delivering and installing the machine, as well as providing training and maintenance. The contract will include a one-year standard parts and labor warranty.
Key features and requirements of the machine include:
* Machining capabilities for a wide variety of components with complex geometries
* Lathes with a main lathe spindle size of 7 inches or greater and a second lathe spindle size of 5 inches or greater
* A milling spindle with a maximum speed of 11,000 rotations per minute or greater
* A tool holder with a 70-tool magazine or larger
* Bar work capability for 3 inches or greater in diameter
* Automatic steady rest and follow rest
* Software CNC programming and operations manual
* A one-year standard parts and labor warranty
* Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA standards
