Pole Cap Cadmium Plating

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is seeking a contractor to provide cadmium plating removal and re-plating services for 24 main pole caps. The contractor will be responsible for safely removing the existing cadmium plating, machining the pole cap bottom to be flat within .005", and re-plating each pole cap in accordance with ASTM-B-633 Type VI Class 3. The contractor must also provide a comprehensive quality control plan and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the statement of work. The period of performance for this contract is from March 26, 2026, to March 25, 2027, with options to increase the quantity of pole caps and extend the period of performance. * Key requirements include: * Safe removal of cadmium plating * Machining the pole cap bottom to be flat within .005" * Re-plating in accordance with ASTM-B-633 Type VI Class 3 * Comprehensive quality control plan * Ability to use government-provided crates for return shipment * Ability to handle and segregate unused or unacceptable materials for return * Ability to return crates of completed pole caps as they are filled
