Description

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is soliciting grant applications for exploratory research projects focused on the development and validation of emerging technologies for cancer research or clinical care. The proposed technologies should have the potential to accelerate and/or enhance research in areas such as cancer biology, early detection and screening, clinical diagnosis, treatment, cancer control, and/or epidemiology. Some examples of in-scope projects include advanced molecular and cellular analysis platforms, multi-omic and spatial profiling methods, imaging and sensing technologies, and innovations in biospecimen processing, modeling, and quality assessment. • The grant is for $300,000 or less, and the estimated total funding is $6,600,000. • The project should focus on cancer applications, but the technology itself may have broader applicability. • The grant is part of the NCI-sponsored Innovative Molecular Analysis Technologies (IMAT) Program. • The application should demonstrate supportive preliminary data and propose further development, enhancements, optimizations, and rigorous technical validation of the emerging technology.
