Description
The City of Rochester, NH is seeking a qualified contractor to replace the existing gravity sewer main on Portland Street with new 8‑in. PVC pipe, install precast manholes, concrete walls, and perform associated earthwork, rock excavation, pavement removal and replacement, and comprehensive traffic‑control measures. The contract includes a 90‑day substantial‑completion schedule and a total contract period of 120 calendar days, with liquidated damages for delays. Bidders must be pre‑qualified via RFQ 26‑12, submit a 5 % bid bond, and provide performance and payment bonds after award.
• Replace existing 6‑in. vitrified‑clay forcemain with 8‑in. SDR‑26 PVC (and 8‑in. C900/DR‑18 PVC where required).
• Install four‑foot precast manhole bases, frames, covers, and 27 vertical feet of precast concrete walls/cones.
• Perform rock excavation (minimum 15 CY @ $75/ CY), earthwork, back‑fill, and full pavement reconstruction (temporary and permanent courses).
• Provide traffic‑control services (flaggers & uniformed officers) – flat $75,000 fee, plus two portable message signs.
• Submit detailed CPM schedule, meet strict environmental/permits, and adhere to 8‑hour workday limits with no night or weekend work without written approval.
