Description

The US Air Force is soliciting proposals for the procurement of Wing and Fin Sub-Assemblies to support the AIM-120X and CATM-120X series of the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM). The Government intends to award a single contract for the scope of work identified within the Attachment 2 Statement of Work (SOW). The evaluation and award criteria will be based on the Lowest Price, Technically Acceptable (LPTA) source selection procedure. The key evaluation parameters include proposal limit, award basis, and evaluation sequence. The technical evaluation will be based on four equally important subfactors: Wing and Fin Packaging, Handling, Shipping and Transportation Solution, Wing and Fin Production Plan, Finished/In Process Product Verification Plan, and Honeycomb Implementation. • The contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror whose proposal is determined to be technically acceptable and has the lowest Total Evaluated Price. • The Government will only evaluate one proposal from each offeror. • The evaluation sequence will not necessarily be conducted in sequential order. • The technical evaluation subfactors will be equally important in the evaluation process.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $20,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate without more information about the scope of work and the number of units required. However, based on the fact that the contract is for a critical component of a missile system, it is likely that the budget will be in the millions of dollars. The Government's use of the Lowest Price, Technically Acceptable source selection procedure also suggests that the budget will be competitive and based on the offeror's ability to provide a technically acceptable proposal at the lowest price. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the sub-assemblies, the production volume, and the required delivery schedule. A possible estimate for the budget could be between $5 million and $20 million.
