Request for Interested Manufacturers of 4220-01-505-8727SO – Life Raft, Inflatable

The Department of the Air Force is conducting market research to identify potential manufacturers of 20 Person Life Rafts, specifically the LRU-33/A model, for use on C-130J aircraft. The life raft is designed to provide out-of-water support for up to 20 people and features a dual-tube, non-reversible design with a self-erecting canopy and other safety features. The Government intends to award a sole source contract to Air Cruisers Company, LLC, but is soliciting interest from other potential manufacturers. Key features of the life raft include: • Dual-tube, non-reversible design • Self-erecting canopy • Inflation system with a shatter-proof gas cylinder • Insulated floor • Self-inflating boarding ramps • Two water-activated lights • Carrying case • Attached ballast bags, sea anchor, and rainwater collector • Foam block with cable guides and cables for left- and right-wing installation • Two retaining straps with frangible links The life raft is constructed of urethane-coated nylon with thermo-bonded seams.
