The U.S. Embassy in the Central African Republic’s Public Diplomacy Section is announcing an open competition for past participants of U.S. government-funded and U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to submit applications to the 2024 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF 2024). The fund provides alumni with funding to expand on skills gained during their exchange experience in order to design and implement innovative solutions to global challenges facing their community.
Proposed projects should address one or more of the following themes: English language instruction and learning, women’s economic empowerment, combatting trafficking in persons, peace and reconciliation, justice and rule of law, and education and teaching.
• Project teams must include at least two exchange alumni.
• Alumni who are U.S. citizens may not submit proposals, but U.S. citizen alumni may participate as team members in a project.
• Applications must be submitted by exchange alumni, and not-for-profit, non-governmental organizations, think tanks, and academic institutions are not eligible to apply in the name of the organization but can serve as partners for implementing project activities.
• The proposed project should be completed in 12 months or less.
• The budget should be submitted in U.S. dollars, and costs should be reasonable in relation to the proposed activities and anticipated results.
