Up to $500,000 may be requested for a three‑year project; institutions without NSF funding in the past five years may receive an additional $100,000 for a four‑year effort (maximum $600,000). Eligible institutions are accredited two‑year colleges (associate‑only or baccalaureate/associate) and may partner with other higher‑education entities, but the two‑year college must be the lead. The program supports any NSF‑funded discipline, including social, behavioral, and economic sciences. • Funding mechanism: NSF Grant (CFDA 47.076) • Eligible applicants: Accredited two‑year colleges (associate or baccalaureate/associate) • Project tracks: (1) Academic experiences of two‑year students; (2) Leveraging two‑year college strengths and innovation • Maximum award: $500,000 for up to 3 years (or $600,000 for up to 4 years for first‑time NSF recipients) • Expected number of awards: 20, total estimated funding $10 million • Submission window: 08/31/2026 – 12/09/2026 • Primary contact: [email protected] (phone 703‑292‑4203)

Budget estimate

$150,000 – $600,000

The solicitation allows a maximum award of $500,000 for a three‑year project, with an additional $100,000 possible for first‑time NSF recipients (four‑year total $600,000). Most proposals will likely request between $150,000 and $500,000 depending on scope. Therefore, the estimated budget range per award is roughly $150K‑$600K. Factors influencing the final amount include the institution’s prior NSF experience, the chosen track, and the breadth of proposed activities.
