The National Park Service intends to award a single-source justified cooperative agreement for fellowships with the Cultural Resources Office of Interpretation and Education. The project aims to provide training opportunities for qualified graduate students in cultural resources fields, such as historic preservation, archeology, history, museum management, and landscape architecture. The fellow will work with the National Coordinator to bring together the 19th Amendment histories uncovered by parks, regions, and programs into a national context. The fellow will communicate with the field and relevant partners and scholars to collect these stories, researching and creating a context to connect them, and creating digital content to share the information out more broadly.
Some key aspects of this opportunity include:
• The project is a youth fellowship to provide training opportunities for qualified graduate students.
• The fellow will work with the National Coordinator to bring together the 19th Amendment histories.
• The project aims to promote and stimulate education, job training, development of responsible citizenship, productive community involvement, and furthering the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of natural and cultural resources.
• The recipient will be responsible for recruiting and hiring qualified undergraduate or graduate interns, administering payroll, housing, and travel expenses, and providing other intern benefits.
• The National Park Service will provide financial assistance, general orientation to the NPS, park/site operations, and its mission to participants, and work with the recipient to develop viable and relevant employment and learning opportunities at NPS sites.
