Description

The U.S. Navy is seeking a qualified source to repair and modify 24 units of a flight‑critical blade propeller (NSN 7R‑1610‑016145786‑EK). The work requires engineering source approval, access to proprietary design data, and the ability to meet stringent quality standards. Only sources previously approved by the Government may submit proposals; new sources must submit a detailed Source Approval Brochure. Proposals are accepted for up to 45 days after the synopsis publication (30 days if under an existing BOA). The contract will be awarded to the approved source(s) that can meet the Navy’s schedule and technical requirements. • Quantity: 24 blade propellers (repair/modification) • Delivery: FOB origin (supplier‑originated) • Engineering source approval required – flight‑critical part • Only pre‑approved sources may be considered; new sources must submit extensive technical data • Proposals due within 45 days of synopsis (30 days if under a BOA) • Contract action will be a sole‑source award under FAR 6.302‑1 • Contact: Arianna G. Pilla (US Navy) for questions and submission instructions.

Budget estimate

$1,200,000 – $2,400,000

The contract involves 24 high‑value, flight‑critical propeller repairs. Similar Navy propeller repair contracts have ranged from $20 k to $100 k per unit depending on complexity, tooling, and certification requirements. Assuming an average cost of $75 k per propeller (including engineering data transfer, tooling, labor, and quality assurance), the total contract value would be roughly $1.8 M. A lower‑complexity estimate (e.g., $50 k per unit) yields about $1.2 M, while a high‑complexity, highly‑certified repair could approach $2.4 M. Therefore, a reasonable estimate is $1.2 M–$2.4 M.
