Optical Filters

The United States Air Force is proposing a sole-source award for the procurement of optical filters with Indie Photonics. The required filters include narrowband tunable optical filters and phase masks, which are critical components for advancing quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum communications. The Government has determined that other companies' products and services do not meet or cannot be modified to meet the Government's needs. • The procurement includes four items: narrowband tunable optical filters, phase masks, and power and control units. • The required filters require no PID locking and approach the quantum limit with 100 dB of isolation. • The high isolation filters are necessary for operating quantum transducers and connecting superconducting qubits to other qubit modalities. • The Government anticipates an award date on or before 30 July 2026.
