Application Instructions for the Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) Imminent Threat (IT) Program

The Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) Imminent Threat (IT) Program provides funding to alleviate or remove imminent threats to public health or safety. Eligible applicants are Tribes and Tribal organizations, and they must submit an application that includes a detailed project description, budget, and other required documents. The program has a first-come, first-served basis until all funds have been awarded. Some examples of eligible imminent threat activities include acquisition of real property, public facilities and improvements, clearance activities, public services, interim assistance, relocation assistance, housing services, and privately owned utilities. • Eligible activities must alleviate or remove imminent threats to public health or safety. • Eligible applicants are Tribes and Tribal organizations as described in the ICDBG regulations at 24 CFR §1003.5. • The program has a first-come, first-served basis until all funds have been awarded. • The updated ICDBG-IT grant ceilings are $750,000 for disasters that are not Presidentially Declared Disasters (PDDs) and $1,500,000 for PDDs.
