Description
The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking bids for the supply of hay and straw for the Kentucky Horse Park. The solicitation includes five line items: Baled Straw, Baled Hay - Orchard Grass / Alfalfa, Baled Hay - Timothy Grass / Alfalfa, Baled Hay - Timothy Grass / Orchard Grass, and Baled Hay - Western Straight Alfalfa. The hay and straw must meet specific quality standards and be delivered within 7 days of order. Deliveries may require additional labor and equipment for unloading and placement.
• The Baled Straw must be clean, bright straw, and free from foreign matter, excessive seed heads, weeds, and dust and mold.
• The Baled Hay - Orchard Grass / Alfalfa must be of a specific average ration and free from fescue and foxtail.
• The Baled Hay - Timothy Grass / Alfalfa must have an Alfalfa percentage not exceeding 40%.
• The Baled Hay - Timothy Grass / Orchard Grass must be a mixture with grass mixtures averaging 50% each.
• The Baled Hay - Western Straight Alfalfa must be in pure form and available on a limited basis.
