Description

The Naval Air Systems Command, Program Management Office, Aerial Targets (PMA-208), is seeking information on commercially-based supersonic aerial target solutions. The objective of this Request for Information (RFI) is to solicit technical feedback from industry and identify mature, commercially-developed solutions that can meet Navy threat simulation requirements. The Government is seeking information on supersonic aerial target capabilities that can be demonstrated in the near term and can be scaled to provide recurring operational target presentations to support the Fleet. The RFI includes requirements for performance, maneuverability, and system integration. Interested parties are requested to provide a capabilities statement addressing their corporate capability, proposed business model, technical and operational approach, schedule, and risk. • The RFI is not a solicitation and does not constitute a commitment by the Government. • The Government may use the information received to inform a potential prototype project under Other Transaction Authority (OTA). • The RFI is open to various acquisition and business models, including contractor-owned/contractor-operated and pay-per-outcome. • The Government reserves the right to pursue production of a successful prototype. • The RFI includes a requirement for safety certification and range integration.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $100,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the RFI does not provide a specific budget or funding amount. However, based on the complexity and scope of the project, it is likely that the budget will be in the millions of dollars. The Government is seeking a commercially-based solution, which may involve a contract or Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with a value ranging from $1 million to $100 million or more, depending on the scope and duration of the project. The budget will likely depend on the specific requirements and constraints of the project, as well as the capabilities and pricing of the selected contractor. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the solution, the level of technical maturity, and the proposed business model.
