Including Fire Station 1 in a Development Project

The City of Miami Beach is seeking letters of interest from property owners interested in partnering with the City and including a Fire Station as a part of their development projects. The existing Fire Station 1, built in 1967, is in need of replacement, and the City is looking for a new location that meets certain criteria, including being centrally located within the service area, having a minimum size of ¾ of one acre, having at least two adjacent roadways for equipment and vehicular access, and accommodating a building of 25,000-29,000 square feet with parking for 34-48 employee vehicles. The City is seeking non-binding letters of interest, which should include information about the respondent, proof of ownership, and an expression of interest in partnering with the City. • The City will review the letters of interest and may schedule industry meetings to clarify any questions. • The City may consider authorizing a future competitive solicitation, such as a Request for Proposals (RFP), based on the responses received. • The project is funded by the 2018 General Obligation Bond. • The City is looking for a long-term partnership with a property owner to develop a new Fire Station 1. • The new Fire Station 1 should have a minimum of 25,000 square feet and accommodate 34-48 employee vehicles.
