Description
The Illinois State Toll Highway Authority is seeking bids for the emergency repair of the I-88 and Illinois Route 83 bridge. The project involves performing structural repairs, including bridge beam replacement, removal and replacement of bridge deck and pavement, parapets, and raised median, pavement marking, and maintenance of traffic, including temporary concrete barrier. The damage to the bridge was caused by a construction excavator being hauled by a truck/trailer traveling westbound on I-88, resulting in lane closures on IL 83 and I-88.
• The project requires the contractor to have recent experience working on similar bridge projects and familiarity with the site conditions, structural configurations, and logistical/coordination aspects.
• The contractor must be able to minimize disruption to the traveling public.
• The project is expected to start on May 30, 2025, and end on August 27, 2025.
• The estimated cost of the project is $2,000,000.
