2025 DIXON WTP SOFTENER TANK REHABILITATION PROJECT

The Onslow Water and Sewer Authority (ONWASA) is seeking proposals for the rehabilitation of a softener tank at the Dixon Water Treatment Plant. The project includes removing and disposing of existing media, performing a visual inspection of the tank, repairing defective areas, preparing and painting interior and exterior surfaces, pressure testing, replacing the brine inlet valve and electronic actuator, and installing new gravel and media. The successful proposer will be responsible for furnishing all permits, materials, equipment, and labor necessary to complete the project. • The project requires the removal and disposal of existing media from a 9 ft. 6 in. straight shell by 12 ft. OD steel tank softener vessel. • The contractor must perform a visual inspection of the tank and repair defective areas, including spot and patch welding as needed. • The contractor must prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces, including applying a two-part epoxy coating certified for potable water service. • The contractor must replace the brine inlet valve and electronic actuator and install new gravel and media in the tank. • The project must be completed within 30 calendar days from the receipt of a Notice to Proceed.
