MEDIAN IMPROVEMENTS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS

The City of Bakersfield is seeking a contractor to construct median improvements across multiple locations on Ashe Road and Wible Road. The work includes constructing Type “M” median curbs, excavating and removing existing asphalt and full‑depth medians, adjusting survey monuments, installing traffic striping, pavement markings, and road signs, as well as concrete work (including stamped concrete) and wood‑mulch landscaping. The contractor must hold a valid California Class A and/or C‑8 license, coordinate utilities (811 call ≥48 hrs before excavation), and adhere to CALTRANS 2023 specifications, Buy‑America, and prevailing‑wage requirements. • Construct 1.8 mi of median curb (type “M”) with 10‑in. reveal. • Perform earthwork (≈ 1,430 CY) and remove existing median structures. • Install traffic signage, striping, stamped concrete, and wood mulch (≈ 2,600 CY). • Adjust manhole elevations and protect existing street infrastructure throughout construction.
