DeSoto County Regional (DCR) Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion – Phase 1

The DeSoto County Board of County Commissioners is seeking formal bids from qualified firms and/or individuals to perform the Phase 1 expansion of the DeSoto County Utilities Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project includes demolition work, site civil improvements, removal and installation of static screens and rotary drum screens, a new flow splitting structure, a proposed extended-air package treatment plant, and other improvements. The contractor will be allowed 550 total calendar days for substantial completion and 30 additional calendar days for final completion. The basis of award will be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Key aspects of the project include: • Expansion of treatment capacity and auxiliary improvements to the existing wastewater treatment plant • Increase in treatment and disposal capacity to 1.4 MGD • Demolition work and site civil improvements • Installation of new equipment, including rotary drum screens and a center ring clarifier • Rehabilitation of the existing effluent disposal facilities • Electrical and control improvements • Compliance with EPA grant requirements
