35th Avenue Multimodal Improvements

The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking a consultant to provide expert guidance in shaping a varied and context-sensitive corridor along 35th Avenue, extending the neighborhood bikeway from Sheridan Boulevard to Wadsworth Boulevard. The project must integrate three key elements: traffic calming, bicycle infrastructure, and pedestrian amenities, adapted to local conditions and community input. The consultant will be responsible for providing a range of services, including project management, public involvement, topographic survey, utility investigation, hydrology and hydraulic engineering, and landscape design. The project aims to enhance safety and accessibility for all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles. • The project will extend the existing 35th Avenue neighborhood bikeway in Denver to reach the Wadsworth Urban Center. • The project will create a vital non-motorized connection between western and central Denver and Wheat Ridge. • The project will benefit key destinations like two parks and Wheat Ridge’s Active Adult Center. • The project will include traffic-calming features aimed at reducing speeds and prioritizing safe, shared use. • The project will be partially funded with federal and state funds and must comply with all applicable federal guidelines and regulations.
