The U.S. Mission to Nigeria is accepting proposals from eligible organizations seeking project funding through the Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) for fiscal year 2024. The AFCP supports the preservation of major ancient archaeological sites, historic buildings and monuments, and major museum collections that have an historical or cultural significance to the cultural heritage of Nigeria.
• The AFCP will prioritize projects that directly support U.S. treaty or bilateral agreement obligations, U.S. policies, strategies, and objectives, risk reduction and resilience for cultural heritage, and complement other ECA or public diplomacy programs.
• Eligible project implementers include non-governmental organizations, museums, educational institutions, ministries of culture, and similar institutions and organizations.
• The project should be completed in 60 months or less, and the award amount will range from $10,000 to $500,000.
