Description
The Coachella Valley Mountains Conservancy (CVMc) is offering a Proposition 4 grant to fund nature‑based solutions and climate‑adaptation projects on conservation lands in the Coachella Valley and surrounding mountains. Grants aim to reduce climate‑change risks, protect natural and cultural resources, restore habitats and watersheds, reduce wildfire risk, and expand equitable public access to parks and trails. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and tribal governments operating within the Conservancy’s jurisdiction. While matching funds are not required, a 20 % match is strongly encouraged and may improve competitiveness. The program is funded by the State’s Proposition 4 bond, with a total estimated pool of $11 million; award amounts and number of awards are dependent on applications. Applications start on 13 March 2026 with a required Letter of Intent, followed by a full application for invited candidates.
