The City of Lubbock is seeking bids from vendors to supply a flow controller, adapter plate, and butterfly valve to be used at the North Water Treatment Plant. The controller and valve regulate and measure the flow of potable water from the final effluent filter for storage in the clearwell. The replacement equipment does not need to be a one-piece unit, but the entire valve and rate of flow controller assembly must fit into the 46.5” maximum allowable space. The City will reuse the existing electric EIM valve actuator that will operate the new butterfly valve. Vendors are encouraged to attend a non-mandatory site visit to aid in the preparation of their bid.
• The flow controller must have a flow range of 0-144” WC.
• The flow tube must be equipped with a high-pressure tap in the entrance section and a low-pressure tap in the throat section.
• The flow body must be constructed of cast iron ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12, or approved equal.
• The throat liner and pressure tap bushings must be Type 316 stainless steel.
• The entire flow meter, except the throat liner, flange faces, and pressure tap bushings, must be coated with epoxy paint that meets the requirements of the United States EPA, AWWA, and is NSF 61 approved for potable water applications.
• The butterfly valve must have a cast iron body, cast or ductile iron disc with stainless steel disc edge or ductile iron disc with stainless seat ring in the body.
• The valve must be packed with Chevron-style valve packing to ensure long life and leak-free operation.
• All portions of the valve body, except the seat and stainless trim, must be coated with a high-quality fusion-bonded epoxy coating.
