Combined Sources Sought/Notice of Intent: Digital Lock-in Amplifiers

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources for a digital lock-in amplifier. The amplifier will be used to measure the amplitude and phase of radio frequency signals up to 1.8 GHz. The system must be able to operate at frequencies up to 1.8 GHz, be capable of measuring the amplitude and phase of signals at these frequencies, and provide a phase locked loop with proportional-integral-derivative feedback control. The lock-in amplifier will be used to measure the electrical response of microscale acoustic resonators while semiconductor materials are deposited on them using atomic layer deposition (ALD) processes. Some key features of the required lock-in amplifier include: • Operation at frequencies up to 1.8 GHz • Measurement of amplitude and phase of signals at these frequencies • Phase locked loop with proportional-integral-derivative feedback control • Compatibility with Zurich Instruments LabOne software • Specific technical specifications, such as number of independent lock-in channels, frequency range, and lock-in input maximum analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) rate.
