The US Air Force is seeking a design-build contractor to repair and replace the roof of Building 10571, a historic property constructed in the early 1940s. The project involves removing the existing built-up roof and installing a new 3-ply SBS-Modified BUR roof assembly on the barrel roof section and new 90-mil EPDM roof assemblies on the three lower roof lean-to sections. The contractor will also replace existing roof drains, flashings, vent pipe flashing, cover board, insulation, vapor barrier, cant strips, metal copings, and trim with new ones. • The building has a total area of 68,986 square feet. • The main open space has a high barrel roof section of approximately 50,000 square feet. • There are three lower roof lean-to sections with areas of approximately 36-ft by 268-ft, 36-ft by 229-ft, and 36-ft by 180-ft. • The project requires a design-build approach. • The contractor must ensure that all roofing assemblies are fully adhered.
