Description

The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is seeking information regarding industry capabilities and interest in a requirement to safely decommission, physically extract, and appropriately dispose of a high-capacity Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system located in a decommissioned data center. The work will be completed in distinct phases to ensure safety and continuity of operations. The phases include site survey and planning, electrical make-safe, disassembly and teardown, rigging and extraction, and transportation and disposal. The contractor must have the capability to perform HAZMAT disposal, provide certificates of destruction/recycling, and adhere to OSHA compliance. • The UPS system is a Symmetra PX 250/500kW, and it includes power modules, intelligence modules, and associated modular battery cabinets. • The contractor must utilize licensed and bonded commercial electricians for all electrical disconnection and LOTO procedures. • The contractor must provide proof of sufficient liability insurance to cover potential damages to the facility or critical infrastructure during rigging. • The contractor must coordinate with Base Public Works or the Facility Manager to cap off exposed electrical conduits and address any floor tile gaps left by the removed frames.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The dollar amount range that the client might expect to earn if they win the bid and do the job is estimated to be between $100,000 and $500,000. This estimation is based on the fact that the work involves the decommissioning and disposal of a high-capacity Uninterruptible Power Supply system, which requires specialized equipment and labor. The client will need to provide labor, rigging, transportation, and certification of proper disposal, which will incur significant costs. Additionally, the client will need to have sufficient liability insurance to cover potential damages to the facility or critical infrastructure during rigging, which will also add to the costs. The actual budget will depend on the complexity of the work, the location, and the client's expertise and experience.
