Description

Auburn University is seeking sealed bids for a 3D Printing System for the College of Engineering. The system should have a novel research printer that utilizes solid targets as printing sources with on-demand and in-situ dry particle generation, deposition, and real-time laser sintering capability to form small-scale 3D parts. The system should also have a "Smart Manufacturing Interface (SMI)" software with system automation and design files to direct write ability. The university requires a target mounting assembly, removable target holders, ablation particle generation laser, sintering lasers, and other components. The system should also have a vision system for observing the print, gantry-based motorized XYZ motion, and mass flow controllers. The university also requires on-site installation and training, as well as a one-year warranty. • The system should be able to print small-scale 3D parts • The system should have a "Smart Manufacturing Interface (SMI)" software • The system should have a target mounting assembly and removable target holders • The system should have ablation particle generation laser and sintering lasers • The system should have a vision system for observing the print • The system should have gantry-based motorized XYZ motion and mass flow controllers • The system should have on-site installation and training, as well as a one-year warranty

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000, considering the complexity and specialization of the 3D printing system required by the university. The system's advanced features, such as the "Smart Manufacturing Interface (SMI)" software and the ablation particle generation laser, suggest a high-end product with a corresponding price tag. Additionally, the university's requirement for on-site installation and training, as well as a one-year warranty, may also contribute to the overall cost.
